Promoting Your Flex Applications

The article talks about the ways that Adobe helps Flex developers promote their applications - things like the Flex Showcase (http://www.flex.org/showcase/), the Adobe Site of the Day and Customer Success Program (http://www.adobe.com/go/showcase), and Flex team member blogs, including www.riapedia.com. You can read the blog entry at http://weblogs.macromedia.com/flexteam/archives/2008/02/how_to_promote.cfm The Flex Showcase is the most popular page on Flex.org - in January alone this site received over 70,000 visits. Any application that is submitted to the Flex Showcase will be accepted - as long as it's built with Flex. Visit http://flex.org/showcase/ to see the applications and to submit your own. People who want to stay up to date with the Showcase can subscribe to the RSS feed - http://feeds.feedburner.com/flexshowcase

eBay contest now for Flex developers too!

This looks like a great contest - and there are 5 prizes of $10K up for grabs. Please note that entries are due by February 22nd, 2008. Ebay has changed the rules for the eBay Widget contest - entries can now be up to 400 kb and include open source code. People may recall that eBay originally banned open source components and had a limit of 200 kb on the size of the widget - making it nearly impossible for Flex developers to get involved. http://dougmccune.com/blog/2008/01/29/ebay-widget-contest-rules-change-f or-flex-developers
